About

More than 34 million Americans have received a diagnosis of diabetes, and although each individual’s experience with diabetes is unique, they all seek guidance and support. I established The Typical Type 2 after being unexpectedly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in my early thirties. I was disappointed by the lack of information provided when the nurse informed me of my A1C results, and I felt overwhelmed by the information I found online. It took me six months to transition from feeling ashamed and uncertain to accepting, understanding, and motivated. Through The Typical Type 2, I aim to share my insights as I confront my own type 2 diabetes diagnosis, while offering encouragement and education to others on the same journey.
